Get a Website for Under £80

Get a domain name and website for under £80. There is no need to have to pay huge amounts of money for a good domain name or a hosted website. A hosted website just means that someone is looking after it for you on their server which means it is ready to go live on the internet any time of the day or night. They make sure that things keep working and if you need any help there is someone there to answer your questions.

As usual, I am letting you know about a simple, affordable, good value product that I have tried and tested and can whole-heartedly recommend. I have recommended them to my clients over the last 12 months or so and they too have found them simple to use, cheap to buy and have said that the support is excellent when they have needed it.

You simply click here and go first to the domain tab (this is an affiliate link and should you join they will pay me a small commission so thank you in advance). Here you can try different domain names out to see which are available and how much they would cost you to purchase (usually around £8).

How to get a website for under £40

Once you have decided on a domain name that you are happy with simply click on the hosted tab and go to "wordpress hosting" which you will find at the top of the right hand column. (I recommend wordpress because it is very easy to use and it has lots of free plugins that you can download too).

How to get a website for under £40

There are lots of different packages to choose from so just choose the one that you think will be best for you. If you are not sure then choose the £2.91 per month option. I started one of my large websites from this and only needed to upgrade once I started getting over 25,000 page views. If you do need a bigger one at some point then you can upgrade as you go along. This will be charged as 1 x upfront payment of £70.00 for 2 years. The domain you will get free for the first year.

Once you have purchased your domain name and website you will need to wait for the website and domain name to be "pointed" at the TSOhost server. This just means that it needs to register it and do some stuff in the background before it can let you start playing on it.

Once you receive your log ins etc for your website from TSOhost then log in and install a theme for your website. The theme you choose will be one that reflects what your website is about and how you want your viewers to interact with it. Have a look at some websites from your competitors to see what sort of themes they are using and then find one similar.  You can go to Free WordPress Themes on Google to find countless options.

Like I said, there is no need to spend a fortune on websites and names. This totally simple, affordable package has you well looked after.

Click "I want a website" to start right now and be taken to the page where you enter your domain name to see if it's available. If you would like a little guide that shows you step by step in short videos how to get your domain and build your website then please download the guide it's amazing value at only £9.99!

Do I Really Need A Website?

“Do I really need a website?” is what I am asked at some point or other by everyone I work with who is starting out in business. This questions was asked so many times that I began to wonder why. So I started asking people why they asked this and I was surprised to discover that it usually had nothing to do with websites…

Some people were asking because they had no idea about websites, where to get a domain from (or even what that was), how to get it hosted (or what that was), or were scared to death about having to design one and thought that getting it done for them was going to be a very costly process.

This is what I tell my clients, and now I’m telling you too. The short answer is yes. You really do need a website of some description if you want to look credible as a business. In the old days people used to ask where your office or shop was, now they ask to look at your website. If you haven’t got one they immediately wonder why.

But websites don’t have to be scary. I literally work with my clients for one morning and they have a fully functioning website for under £30. All they have to do then is add some content to it and off they go.

I am also frequently regaled with horror stories about outsourcing the websites to designers. A lot of unscrupulous people are out there ready to take your money (and lots of it) for what seems very little work. I have heard of websits taking months to build and some have even been published with the holding text still on it (the bits that start lorem ipsum).

It seems the going rate for a website around Wolverhampton is about £800. This is about right if you are working with a designer who is going to create something completely bespoke for you, something that needs coding and that will work exactly as you want it to.

Most people don’t need this to get started, and if your business budget is tight then you can certainly save money in this department. With the amount of excellent free themes that are available you can get a really good website for next to nothing. You can always spend more later on once your business is established. You will need to update them every now and again anyway to keep them fresh and modern looking.

So the next time you think “Do I really need a website?” know that there are really cheap options out there.  Don’t choose a free website from GoDaddy or 1 & 1 or wix because they will do your business credibility more harm than good. You need to own your own domain and not have it as a part of the GoDaddy or Wix domain. If you build your website for free with them and then want to take their bit off, it will cost you around £5.99 per month to upgrade to a package that enables you to do this.

How To Attract More Customers

How to attract more customers seems like the ultimate challenge, but it needn’t be. There are a few things that you can do to make it a little easier.

First of all think about which type of customer you would like to attract. Don’t say any. You need to narrow the field down so that you know exactly who it is that you are trying to attract. For example, look at the criteria below:

  • Men or women
  • Age range
  • Income bracket
  • Hobbies or interests
  • Where they live
  • What similar products or services do they buy
  • Where would they usually shop for these products or services
  • What magazines or articles would they tend to read

This is not an exhaustive list but you get the general idea. By knowing exactly what your customer looks like you are now far better equipped to go out and attract them.

Let’s say for example that you are selling jeans on your website. You know that the jeans are equally suitable for old and young alike. But consider this…

What is the young person looking for in their jeans? Do they want to look sexy, attractive, show off their curves or muscles?

What would an older person want from their jeans? Durability, comfort, quality of denim?

You get the picture. If you wanted to attract older customers for your jeans you would have to talk about the things they wanted from the jeans. If, however you wanted to sell the jeans to a younger customer you would have to approach it in a totally different way and point out the features and benefits that they found more appealing.

It isn’t that you can’t sell to everyone, it is just that you need to sell to everyone in a slightly different way. You need to figure out what it is that they are looking for. What problems do they have, what questions do they want answers to and what pain points are they experiencing. You then need to show them how your product or service is going to solve those problems, answer those questions or alleviate their pain.

If you talked about your jeans being cut to fit the body perfectly and that they will show off the curves and long legs you would attract young customers to your jeans. If you talked about your jeans being comfortable to wear, durable and good quality denim then you would attract older customers to your jeans.

Don’t be lazy though. If you try and talk about both things in one sales pitch then you are most likely going to put both sets of customers off.

So that’s really all there is to it. I’m not suggesting that this is going to happen over night. It is a skill that you will probably have to learn. You will have to try different things to see which work on what customer and you will then have to hone these skills until they become second nature. It is well worth the effort though as you will find out when you start attracting the exact customers that you are looking for.

Get A Profitable Business Sooner

Get a profitable business sooner by organising your business and following a few simple steps. It will literally shave months off the time it usually takes to start making a profit.

To find out how you can start making money from your business much faster than most, read my 3 simple tips below…

  1. Do things in the right order.

Most new businesses fall into the trap of doing all the right things but not necessarily in the right order. For example, most new business owners think that the first thing they should do is get a website up and running. Wrong.

This can actually negatively impact your business and can actually slow down your progress. If your website doesn’t look good, doesn’t include SEO (search engine optimisation) and doesn’t act as a lead magnet for you then there is little point in having one. Having a website that looks the part, gives a consistent message, makes offers to potential customers and collects leads for you is what you should be looking at as a bare minimum if you want to be profitable sooner.

Branding is usually one of the last things that people think about. Instead they get their website then their Facebook page and their instagram profile and their etsy shop set up and only then think about how it should all look. No. This should be the first thing you do.

Doing things in the right order will also speed everything up as one thing will build upon another so you won’t have to keep re-doing things or trying to make things fit what you have already done.

       2. Get help and outsource wherever you can

I am constantly told how much people spend on various courses, programmes, apps and the like trying to get their business set up for FREE. Stop it!

Know your strengths (the clue here is that they are probably the things you are trying to make money at). If you are not trying to make money as a web designer then find someone who can build your website, or at least someone who can sit with you and show you how to do it. It will save you hours of frustration and it will save you money in the long run because you wont waste your money on free sites that are useless and that you will have to upgrade from sooner rather than later. Free websites charge a fortune a month for hosting once you upgrade because you are then paying for all the free-loaders who don’t upgrade.

If you want to become profitable sooner you are going to have to realise and accept that you are going to have to spend some money on advice and guidance, I guarantee it will be worth every penny in the long run and will pay for itself several times over.

3. Optimise every single part of your business for sales.

You are in business to make money right? If you just answered no then you probably shouldn’t be in business. Even charities have to make money and not for profits have to make money and you need to make money if your business is going to survive and grow.

Why then do I see websites that are not offering anything at all for sale? Why do I see Facebook pages that have nothing at all to capture leads. Why do I see Pinterest posts with no link back to a website. Well the reason is that new business owners don’t know you need to do this. Most new business owners have been employed all their lives and this is their first dabble into the business world.

But the business world is an unforgiving place. If you don’t act, someone else will. If you are not collecting your leads, you can bet your competitor will gobble them up delighted that you are not bothering.

Make sure your website has an enticing offer that will hopefully capture email addresses to add to your list. These are warm leads and are more likely to become customers than cold leads. Don’t miss out.

Make sure your Facebook page, LinkedIn profile and Pinterest post has a link back to your website. This is FREE traffic to your site and Google loves organic links to sites so will rank you higher as well.

Now go and look at your business again – make the changes – see the results.

So now you know how to get a profitable business sooner by making just a few adjustments to your business plan. I promise you, I did the exact things I have mentioned in this post. I didn’t know any better either when I first started out in business. If only I had known then what I know now I would have been making money much much sooner than the 3 years it took me to figure everything out.

The good news is that once I did figure it out my business literally took off and so can yours. So don’t give up if you are finding it an uphill slog. It’s not your fault, your weren’t told any different, or what you were told didn’t make sense or was only part of the bigger picture.
